Allied Health Education at Edmonds Community College
Welcome to the Allied Health programs at Edmonds Community College. Healthcare is the second fastest growing industry in the U.S. with opportunities in direct patient care and support occupations. Whether you are looking to enter the healthcare field or supplement your current skills, we have designed our programs to meet your needs.
In the Allied Health program, you can earn certificates in:
- Clinical Lab Assistant
- Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician
- Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)

- Medical Information Technology
- Nurse Assistant
- Patient Care Technician
- Pharmacy Technician
- Phlebotomy Technician
- Practical Nursing (LPN)
Some certificates can be completed in as little as one quarter, others in 2 or 3 quarters. Prerequisite courses in the structure and function of the human body, basic medical terminology, computers skills and HIV/AIDS and CPR for Healthcare Professionals may be required for admission to the program. Please consult the individual program requirements sheets or an adviser for more information.
Experienced healthcare professionals will guide you through classroom and laboratory
activities to learn about the healthcare environment, personal skills to make
you successful in the healthcare workplace and the specific skills required
in your chosen profession. Our affiliations with local healthcare facilities
will enable you to obtain the clinical “hands on” experience to
