Allied Health Education at Edmonds Community College

Welcome to the Allied Health programs at Edmonds Community College. Healthcare is the second fastest growing industry in the U.S. with opportunities in direct patient care and support occupations.   Whether you are looking to enter the healthcare field or supplement your current skills, we have designed our programs to meet your needs.

In the Allied Health program, you can earn certificates in:

Some certificates can be completed in as little as one quarter, others in 2 or 3 quarters.  Prerequisite courses in the structure and function of the human body, basic medical terminology, computers skills and HIV/AIDS and CPR for Healthcare Professionals may be required for admission to the program.  Please consult the individual program requirements sheets or an adviser for more information.

Experienced healthcare professionals will guide you through classroom and laboratory activities to learn about the healthcare environment, personal skills to make you successful in the healthcare workplace and the specific skills required in your chosen profession.  Our affiliations with local healthcare facilities will enable you to obtain the clinical “hands on” experience to hone your skills in the healthcare environment.  Please note that certain requirements must be met prior to participating in these clinical experiences.  For requirements click here.
